OMAHA, Neb. -- Kiara Mills hits a go-ahead two-run home run and Jena Lawrence pitched her first career complete game as the Creighton softball team secured a 4-2 victory over UNO on Wednesday afternoon at the Creighton Sports Complex.
The Bluejays improved to 13-8 with the win, while the Mavericks fell to 7-21.
Mills launched a full-count two-run homer over the right-center field wall during the bottom of the third inning to give the Bluejays a 3-1 lead. Cayla Nielsen led off the home half of the third by being hit by the pitch before Mills tallied her sixth home run of the season.
