Omaha, Neb. -- Sophomore McKenzie Meola and junior Kaira Houser were honored for their play against Villanova. Meola collected her second consecutive BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week award and Houser was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Monday, Oct. 16.
Meola earned the back-to-back honor by making six saves in a 1-0 win over Villanova on Sunday, Oct 15. The sophomore's afternoon was highlighted by denying a Wildcat penalty kick with 2:10 left in regulation to keep Villanova off the scoreboard. After Meola and the Bluejay defense stopped a Villanova corner seconds later, Houser collected the ball then raced over 60 yards for the game-winning goal.
