New York, N.Y. -- Freshman goalkeeper McKenzie Meola nabbed the first BIG EAST Weekly Award for the Bluejays this season, earning the Freshman of the Week honor on Monday, Sept. 4.
Making just her second and third appearances in a Creighton uniform, Meola played all 200 of Creighton's 1-0-1 week, making six total saves and posting a .750 save percentage. Meola made four stops against Kansas State in a 1-1 draw on Friday night before denying two shots in a 2-1 victory at South Dakota State on Sunday. McKenzie moved her record on the season to 2-0-1.
