Creighton men’s tennis played its final tournament of the season last weekend, the Redbird Invitational, at the Bloomington Tennis Center, in Normal, Illinois.
The event, lasting from Friday to Sunday, was capped with the Bluejays putting together a good showing against competitors from Eastern Illinois, Illinois State, DePaul, Marquette and Chicago State.
Freshman Nick Campbell won the Flight A Singles championship against DePaul’s Chris Casati 7-6, 6-4.
Campbell showed poise after surviving three straight set points from Casati in the first set before winning 7-6, all after an earlier comeback win in the semifinals the day before against Jorge Bartra Quispe of Illinois State.
