NORMAN, Okla. -- The Creighton men's tennis team fell short in its opening two contests of 2018 against Bryant and No. 18 Oklahoma at the Headington Family Tennis Center in Norman, Oklahoma on Saturday. Creighton fell 3-2 to Bryant, and dropped a 4-0 decision to Oklahoma.
Due to time restrictions, the Bluejays and Bulldogs played three doubles and two singles matches, each best-of-three matches with 10-point tiebreakers in lieu of third sets. All five matches also counted one point each towards the overall match score.
The doubles team of Michael Koch and Daniel Lopez-Rey endured a tough opening defeat, 6-2, 7-6 (7-5), but Creighton tied the overall score with a 7-5, 6-3 sweep from the duo of Armando Gandini and Jose Oscar Diaz.
