MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- Creighton sophomore Jake Ronneberg converted the golden goal in the 105th minute of the second overtime as the Bluejays started the 2021 spring season with a 2-1 BIG EAST victory over Marquette on Friday evening inside the Valley Fields dome in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Creighton moved to 1-0-0 overall and 1-0-0 in league play, while the Golden Eagles dropped to 3-1-0 overall and 0-1-0 during BIG EAST action.
Both of Creighton's goal came following corner kicks. During the 105th minute Diego Gutierrez played a short service from the corner and made a move on a defender before sending the ball towards the six-yard box.
