OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton men's soccer team and first-year head coach Johnny Torres kicked off the 2019 fall season with the first official training on Tuesday morning at Morrison Stadium.
After spending 12 years as an assistant coach, this season marks Torres' first at the helm of the Bluejays. Creighton enters the new campaign as the defending BIG EAST regular-season champions after recording an 11-4-3 record and exiting the postseason in the semifinals of the BIG EAST Championship.
All-BIG EAST Second Team goalkeeper Paul Kruse posted a 0.636 goals against average (10th nationally) in 2018 and tallied eight shutouts while allowing more than one goal in a single match only once and playing each minute in goal during his freshman season.
