PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Top-10 finishes from Charlie Zielinski and Nate Vontz helped the Creighton men's golf team to a runner-up finish at the Advance Golf Partners Collegiate on Tuesday, Feb. 15.
The tournament, featured 21 teams and 121 individuals on the Hammock Beach Ocean Course in Palm Beach, Fla.
The Bluejays were tied for first after 18 holes with Mercer and shared the 36-hole lead with host UNCG. The teams were still tied in the final holes before the Spartans emerged with a three-stroke victory. Creighton finished with an 873 total following loops of 284, 296 and 293, which was eight shots better than defending BIG EAST Tournament champion Connecticut and 32 strokes ahead of league rival Butler.
