VILLANOVA, Pa. -- Two years after Creighton came to Philadelphia and sank a BIG EAST record 21 three-pointers, Villanova got its revenge. The third-ranked Wildcats drained 16-of-29 three-pointers, the most ever allowed by Creighton, to post an 83-58 win over Bluejays on Wednesday night at The Pavilion.
Villanova improved to 19-3 overall and is alone in first place in the BIG EAST with a 9-1 conference record. Creighton dropped to 14-9 and 5-5 in league action.
Both teams came out of the gate lethal from downtown. Each of the game's first eight baskets were from three-point range, with both teams making four shots.
