Men's Basketball Drops Regular-Season Finale With Marquette

MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- A hot-shooting Marquette team was too much to handle as Creighton men's basketball closed the regular-season on Saturday with a 91-83 loss before 17,630 fans at BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wis.

Creighton (23-8, 10-8 BIG EAST) closes the regular-season in a tie for third place with Marquette (19-11, 10-8 BIG EAST), Seton Hall and Providence. The Bluejays will be the sixth seed at next week's BIG EAST Tournament, presented by JEEP, and take on third-seeded Providence. That game will start at 8:30 p.m. Central at Madison Square Garden.

After a Justin Patton dunk on Creighton's first possession, Marquette embarked on an 11-0 run that featured eight points by Jajuan Johnson and force an early timeout from Greg McDermott.
