OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton men's basketball team never trailed while closing out non-conference play with a lopsided 102-77 win over Coppin State on Monday.
Creighton scored on 24-of-33 first half possessions and did not trail for the fourth straight home game. The Jays shot 68.8 percent in the opening half (22-32), including 5-of-9 from long-range, and had 11 lay-ups or dunks while outscoring Coppin State 30-2 in the paint in the first 20 minutes.
Geoffrey Groselle had 12 points and Isaiah Zierden 11 in the first stanza, while Khyri Thomas flirted with a triple-double with eight points, five rebounds and four assists.
