OMAHA, Neb. -- Steve Lutz, an assistant men's basketball coach at Creighton the past seven years, is leaving that role to accept a similar position at Purdue.
Lutz was one of Greg McDermott's first hires after the latter was named head coach of the Bluejays in the spring of 2010, and has helped the Bluejays compile a record of 166-82 in the past seven seasons. The Bluejays made four NCAA Tournaments, one NIT and one CBI in that time, earning nine postseason victories in those seasons. Creighton won a Missouri Valley Conference regular-season title in 2012-13, and MVC Tournament titles in 2012 and 2013.
