Omaha, Neb. -- Sophomore McKenzie Meola claimed Creighton's first BIG EAST weekly honor for women's soccer in 2017, earning the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week nod on Monday, Oct. 9.
Meola led the Bluejays to their first two points of the BIG EAST season last week with a pair of draws. The sophomore made a league-high 14 saves, highlighted by a nine-save outing at No. 12 Georgetown on Thursday afternoon. The Hoyas were limited to just one goal, despite averaging 3.2 scores per game over five BIG EAST contests and firing away with 36 shots.
