OMAHA, Neb. -- Morgan Maly had career-highs with 30 points and five assists and the No. 25 Creighton women's basketball team made a season-high 16 three-pointers, but it wasn't enough in a 79-75 loss to visiting Providence on Wednesday, Jan. 4, inside D.J. Sokol Arena.
Creighton (9-5, 3-3 BIG EAST) was unable to duplicate their fourth quarter magic from Saturday's win at DePaul, never getting closer than three points in the final frame. Providence improved to 10-6 overall while winning for the first time in five BIG EAST contests.
Maly made 12-of-20 shots from the field and 6-of-10 three-pointers, leading a Bluejay attack that made 16-of-32 treys overall.
