PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- Creighton freshman Katherine Lemke sank a 20-foot putt to birdie the first playoff hole and win medalist honors at the BIG EAST Championships on Saturday, April 23
Lemke became Creighton's first individual champion in any sport since joining the BIG EAST in 2013 and earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals. Lemke is the first freshman to win the BIG EAST Championships since Georgetown's Jacquelyn Eleey in 2015.
"I'm really excited," said Lemke. "It's kind of a dream. I didn't think it was possible coming into the season.
