OMAHA, Neb. -- Head coach Greg McDermott announced Monday that Kobe Paras has signed a scholarship agreement to play basketball at Creighton University. Paras, a 6-foot-6 forward from Manila, Philippines, will be a freshman and have four years of eligibility with the Bluejays.
Paras (pronounced PAR-riss) attended Cathedral High School in Los Angeles, Calif., but played last season for Middlebrooks Academy, also in Los Angeles. He's also played for the Compton Magic AAU program.
He comes highly-regarded from the recruiting services, being tabbed a four-star recruit by Scout, and a three-star prospect by ESPN and Rivals.
