Omaha, Neb. -- The efforts of the Creighton women's soccer defensive back line were rewarded on Monday, September 6th as team captain Jordy Rothwell collected the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week nod. Meanwhile sophomore teammate Abigail Santana earned a spot on the conference's weekly honor roll.
Creighton's captain guided the Bluejays to an impressive weekend, posting a pair of shutouts and allowing just five shots in two matches. Rothwell and the back line did not allow a shot to South Dakota in a 0-0 draw on Thursday and did not yield a shot to South Dakota State until the 44th minute on Sunday.
