DETROIT-- A 21-4 run from the Tennessee Volunteers to start the second half proved the difference-maker in a physical and hard-fought Sweet 16 battle, as the No. 3-seeded Creighton Bluejays fell in heartbreaking fashion, 82-75.
In yet another late-night matchup for Creighton on March 29, a dominant start to the second half for the No. 2-seeded Volunteers forced the Bluejays to play catch-up, the deficit proving too much for them to overcome when time ran out.
Even before tipoff, it was clear that the matchup that awaited fans in Detroit was set to be a battle of offensive prowess versus stifling defense.
