COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Marcos Gonzalez and Jake Ziebarth broke Creighton's 8K record on Friday morning at the Gans Creek Classic in Columbia, Mo.
Gonzalez led the Creighton men with an 82nd-place finish, crossing the finish line in 24:28.1 to break the school-record of 24:32.4 that had been set by Tommy Ward last fall at the Platte River Rumble. Ziebarth also beat Ward's previous mark, closing strong to finish 88th in 24:32.1
"Incredible national-caliber field at Gans today, with a lot of top teams from our region," said Creighton head coach Chris Gannon.
