Creighton went on a 10-2 run for a 64-53 lead with five minutes left. L.J. Peak's reverse layup with 3:46 remaining ended Georgetown's field goal drought of five-plus minutes and the Hoyas trailed 66-57.
Georgetown's late full-court press caused problems for Creighton. Kaleb Johnson's steal and fast-break dunk cut it to 71-70 with 52 seconds left. But James Milliken hit both free throws with 44.
