NEW YORK -- Former Creighton men's soccer player Fabian Herbers was honored with a 2015-16 BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete Sport Excellence Award. The conference announced the award winners on Monday.
Scholar-Athlete Excellence Awards are given to one student-athlete in each BIG EAST-sponsored sport for his or her efforts in the classroom, during athletic competition and in the community. Student-athletes with junior academic standing and a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.00 are eligible. The winners are chosen by the BIG EAST Faculty Representative Council.
In the classroom, Herbers accumlated a cumulative GPA of 3.
