Indianapolis, Ind. -- Although the Creighton women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision at Butler, it will be a happy flight home as the Bluejays clinched a spot in the BIG EAST Championship on Thursday, April 8.
The loss closed Creighton's regular season at 4-5 overall and 4-4 in BIG EAST play, while the Bulldogs moved to 9-1 overall and 6-1 in conference action.
Creighton clinched second place in the Midwest Division shortly after the conclusion of its match with a Marquette win over Xavier. The result in Cincinnati sends Creighton to the BIG EAST Championship for the first time since the Bluejays joined the conference in 2013.
