Omaha, Neb. --- A game-high 25 points from Marcus Foster and a double-double by Martin Krampelj help seal a hard-fought victory from St. John's, 78-71, on Wednesday in front of 16,167 fans at CenturyLink Center Omaha.
There wasn't much to separate the two teams in the opening 10 minutes of the game, with both teams trading baskets. Senior Marcus Foster hit his first three treys in the opening six minutes to help give Creighton a 15-13 lead going into the first media timeout. St. John's Ahmed scored 10 of the first 14 points, but a floater from Foster gave Creighton a 18-17 lead.
