Gainesville, Fla. -- Creighton junior closer David Gerber was one of 40 players selected to the Midseason Watch List for the 12th annual National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year Award, given to the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I baseball.
Gerber leads the Bluejays and is tied for BIG EAST's top spot with eight saves. He also owns a 0.82 ERA during 22 appearances. The right-hander has struck out 20 batters and walked eight while allowing 12 hits and two earned runs during 22.0 innings.
