Michigan started things off with a bang on Monday night with a homer in the first inning and limited Florida State to three hits as the Wolverines continued their improbable run in the postseason in a 2-0 win. The Seminoles move to the loser bracket.
With one out in the first inning, Jesse Franklin homered to right field to kick off the scoring to give the Wolverines a 1-0 lead. An insurance run was added in the fifth inning and that was all that was needed for Michigan pitcher Tommy Henry.
Henry pitched a complete game shutout, giving up only three hits and throwing 100 pitches.
