Brian Bowen Sr. testified on Thursday regarding a college basketball bribing scandal and said Creighton University offered him payment to have his son, Brian Bowen Jr., sign with their program.
According to Bowen Sr.’s testimony in New York, Creighton assistant coach Preston Murphy offered the family $100,000 and offered Bowen a “good job, a lucrative job” after he graduated.
Creighton issued a statement Thursday saying, “University officials take today’s claim very seriously and will continue to work with the appropriate agencies as needed.”
Creighton also said Athletics had not been contacted by the NCAA or FBI.
