Creighton Falls to Perennial Power, Tennessee, in Kajikawa Classic Opener

TEMPE, Ariz. - Creighton fell to perennial power, Tennessee, 5-0, in the Bluejays' opening game of the Kajikawa Classic on Thursday.

Three Bluejays (0-1) recorded hits in the contest: Aujanae McCoy, Anna O'Gorman, and Allie Reinhart.

O'Gorman's single came in a seventh inning in which the Bluejays loaded the bases. However, Tennessee starter Erin Gabriel escaped the jam, retiring Kelsey Allender at home on a fielder's choice before recording consecutive strikeouts.

After entering the game in relief, Creighton's Micaela Whitney recorded three and two-thirds scoreless innings before allowing a pair of runs in the sixth.
