Omaha, Neb. -- Creighton Baseball and the Omaha community mourn the passing of former Bluejay Kimera Bartee (1972-2021), who passed away on Monday.
Part of the Creighton Baseball squad that reached the 1991 College World Series, Bartee was a 14th round selection by the Baltimore Orioles during the 1993 draft. A Bluejay from 1991-93, Bartee helped guide Creighton back to the NCAA Tournament in 1992 and his 27 stolen bases during the 1993 season remains in Creighton's Top-10 for a single season.
Bartee went on to play in the Major Leagues for the Detroit Tigers (1996-99), the Cincinnati Reds (2000) and the Colorado Rockies (2001).
