New York, N.Y. -- Gavrilo Civric wasted little time making an impact on his new squad as the newcomer earned the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honor during his first opportunity on Monday, August 26. Civric delivered a pair of goals in the opening five minutes of the second half to push Creighton to a 5-3 win over the Bulldogs.
Inserted into the starting unit at halftime against Drake on Sunday, Civric lifted the Bluejays from down 2-1 to leading 3-2 with a pair of goals in less than five minutes. Civric began the half by converting a penalty kick in the 47th minute (46:51), then stole a crossing pass in the box for an unassisted goal in the 49th minute (48:51).
