WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Kirsten Bernthal Booth picked up her 600th career coaching victory as No. 6 Creighton Volleyball defeated Georgetown in three sets on Friday at McDonough Arena in Washington, D.C. Scores of Creighton's 11th consecutive victory were 25-21, 25-13, 25-9.
Creighton (18-2, 9-0 BIG EAST) remains alone in first place of the BIG EAST at the midpoint of league play and is now unbeaten at the turn for the sixth time since 2015. Georgetown (8-13, 1-8 BIG EAST) has now lost 11 of its last 12 matches after a 7-2 start.
Aces by Maddy Bilinovic, Sydney Breissinger and Ava Martin helped stake Creighton to an 11-3 lead in the opening moments of the match, only to have Georgetown counter with a 6-0 run featuring three aces by Dionna Mitchell to prompt a Bluejay timeout.
