OMAHA, Neb. -- Connecting on 8-of-10 three-pointers in the second half, Creighton Men's Basketball outlasted Xavier in a battle worthy of the NCAA Tournament, 86-77, on Wednesday, January 29.
The win pushed the Bluejays to 15-6 on the season and 8-2 in BIG EAST action, while Xavier fell to 13-9 overall and 5-6 in conference play.
Leading 69-67 with 6:48 remaining, nailed back-to-back from beyond the arc to give the Bluejays some breathing room. After the Musketeers responded with four points in less than 30 seconds, followed Neal's lead with consecutive treys to push Creighton's lead out to 81-71 (4:04).
