Creighton’s men’s and women’s cross-country teams entered the NCAA Midwest Regional Championships in Peoria, Ill. with one clear goal: extend their season by earning a coveted spot at the national meet. However, the high stakes and stacked competition left no margin for error.
Against one of the most competitive fields in the country, the Bluejays battled to the finish line, showcasing their growth throughout the season even as their journey came to an end.
“The Midwest Regional is always a tough test,” Head Coach Chris Gannon said. “During the regional coaches’ meeting this week, it was made note of that [we] have the deepest region in the country, and that even beyond that, top to bottom this year may have been the best regional meet ever.
