Bluejays build momentum heading into Senior Day and postseason

It wouldn’t be the Big East conference without a little drama heading into the final week of regular season play before the tournament in New York.

Before Creighton’s final road game, the top spots in the conference were still up for grabs—except for St. John’s, which had locked in the No. 1 seed. After a 22-point loss to Xavier on March 1, Creighton found itself tied with Marquette for second place, making a March 4 loss at Seton Hall out of the question if the Bluejays wanted sole possession of the spot.

The stage was set for a battle in Newark, New Jersey, with both teams chasing a late-season win.
