OMAHA, Neb. -- Despite a strong effort offensively, the Creighton women's soccer team fell to #17 Georgetown, 1-0, at Morrison Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 24.
Creighton fell to 2-4-4 on the season following the loss and to 0-2-0 in BIG EAST play, while the Hoyas improved to 6-1-3 overall and 2-0-0 in conference action.
A defensive battle early saw Georgetown quickly take control late in the opening period as the Hoyas sent in the lone goal of the match in the 38 minute of play. A turnover in the Bluejays attacking third sent the play into motion as a long entry pass from Grace Sherman found Allie Winstanley at the top of Georgetown's 18-yard box.
