Palo Alto, Calif. -- The 21st ranked Creighton Women's Basketball team battled hard, yet dropped a 72-59 decision to #2 Stanford on Tuesday, December 20.
The loss dropped the Bluejays to 8-3 on the season, while the Cardinal climbed to 12-1 overall.
Stanford took control of the game early in the opening quarter as freshman point guard Talana Lepolo knocked town a trio from beyond the arc. The Cardinal went on to hit 11-of-18 (61.1%) shots from the field in the first 10 minutes, while Creighton opened the game 4-of-14 (28.6%). As a result the Bluejays trailed 27-10 heading to the second.
