OMAHA, Neb. -- Led by head coach Krista Wood, the Creighton softball team is set to host its second annual Hit-A-Thon fundraiser on Friday, September 20 at 4 p.m. at the Creighton Sports Complex in Omaha.
The Hit-A-Thon is an initiative designed to raise funds for program enhancements that includes equipment upgrades, increased travel budgets and community outreach opportunities. The softball team raised more than $43,000 last year in their first hit-a-thon and are setting a lofty goal of raising $50,000 for the softball program this season.
During this year's event, each player will get pledges from individuals in the community and the players will have 10 swings to hit the ball as far as possible.
