OMAHA, Neb. -- It is tough to beat a team three times, and Sunday's second game proved that to be true. After claiming an 9-2 win in game one of Sunday's doubleheader, the Creighton baseball team dropped a 6-3 decision to Portland in the final game of the series.
The loss moved Creighton to 11-2 on the year, while Portland improved to 8-5 overall with the victory.
Zooming through the first two and a half innings of play, Creighton drew first blood with a single run in the bottom half of the third to take a 1-0 lead.
