Omaha, Neb. -- Continuing the slice through opposing pitching, Creighton Baseball claimed the series from Portland with a 9-2 in the opening game of a doubleheader on Sunday, March 10.
The win pushed Creighton to 11-1 on the season, while Portland dipped to 7-5.
The Bluejays burst out to 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first on a two-run double from Ben North and a three-run blast by Matt Scherrman. Tate Gillen and Nolan Sailors worked walks to open the inning, advanced 90 feet on a long fly out from Teddy Deters and raced home on North's two-run double to left with two down in the frame.
