OMAHA, Neb. – Former Creighton right-handed pitcher David Gerber was selected in the 29th round by the Seattle Mariners during the 2017 Major League Baseball Draft on Wednesday, June 14.
Gerber joined Rollie Lacy and Keith Rogalla as the third Bluejay to be selected during day three of the 2017 MLB draft.
This year marks the third in the past four in which three Creighton players have been drafted. Since Ed Servais took over as head coach in 2004, the Bluejay baseball program has produced eight years with at least two draft picks, five with three or more and one with four.
