Omaha, Neb. -- A trio of crooked frames (five runs in the sixth, eight in eighth and two in the ninth) lifted the Creighton Baseball team to a 15-2 victory over Nebraska-Omaha on Saturday, March 6.
The win gave Creighton the series victory over its crosstown rival, while the Bluejays moved to 4-2 on the season. The loss dropped the Mavericks to 3-5 overall.
Bluejay starter Jonah Smith limited the Mavericks to one run on five hits in six innings to earn the win (1-1). The senior hurler notched eight strikeouts and issued just one free pass.
