Omaha, Neb. -- The Creighton Baseball team got two runs in the opening frame and the pitching staff made it stand as Creighton bested UAB, 2-1, on Friday, March 11 in the Bluejays first home game of the 2016 season.
The victory pushed the Bluejays to 7-4 on the season, while UAB fell to 6-7.
Leadoff hitter Daniel Woodrow got Creighton going right away in the bottom of the first, working a nine-pitch walk. Woodrow wasted little time moving up 90 feet as he swiped second on the first pitch to second baseman Ryan Fitzgerald.
