OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton Baseball fell out of first place after suffering a 6-2 loss to Xavier in the first game of a doubleheader on Friday afternoon at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha.
Creighton (21-13, 13-6 BIG EAST) loss and Connecticut's 15-1 victory vs. Seton Hall dropped the Bluejays into second place in the league standings, as the Huskies now own a .733 win percentage compared to CU's .684 mark. Both teams have two games remaining in the regular-season.
Just like in Thursday night's 10-5 Xavier victory, neither team scored in the first two innings before the Musketeers opened the scoring column with a pair of runs in the top of the third.
