Baseball Drops 2016 Season Opener at Fresno State, 2-1

Fresno, Calif. - The Creighton Baseball battled and scraped but were unable to come up with enough offense as the Bluejays fell to Fresno State, 2-1, in the 2016 season opening game.

All the scoring in the game came over the course of two frames. Fresno State got on the board first in the bottom of the fourth, as the Bulldogs chased Creighton starter Matt Warren with back-to-back singles to open the inning. With Connor Miller on from the pen, Fresno State's Zach Ashford swiped second and the Bulldogs pushed across runs on a squeeze and a short single.
