OMAHA, Neb. -- The No. 21 Creighton women's basketball team suffered its first BIG EAST home loss, falling to No. 12 UConn 94-50 in front of the largest women's basketball crowd (2,374) in D.J. Sokol Arena history.
UConn improved to 11-3 (3-0 BIG EAST) with the win, while Creighton dropped to 10-3 (1-2 BIG EAST) with the defeat. Both of CU's league losses have come against Top 25 competition.
Connecticut raced to a 27-14 lead after one quarter, shooting 78.6 percent (11-140 in the opening stanza. Aaliyah Edwards 9) and KK Arnold (7) combined for 16 points to lead the Huskies attack, which included a 16-4 advantage in the paint.
