New York, N.Y. -- Creighton senior Andrew Meggs claimed his first BIG EAST Player of the Week as the Bluejay second baseman led Creighton to a series sweep of St. John's over the weekend.
Meggs broke out of a season-long slump with nine hits in four games this week. The Bluejay leader guided Creighton to a sweep of St. John's, with the midweek game against Nebraska suspended at 4-4 in the bottom of the seventh. Meggs went 9-for-18 (.500) with his first home run and seven RBI. Meggs shined brightest in the Bluejays' rally on Sunday with three RBI singles as Creighton overcame a 7-1 deficit to defeat the Red Storm 8-7.
