I didn’t always know running was going to be my thing.
My parents were both runners at the University of Colorado, but they never pushed the sport on me.
I played soccer and basketball growing up because I loved the competitive edge and friendships. In all honesty, though, coordination wasn’t my strong suit, and I began to realize the part I loved most about each sport was the running.
So, in high school, I joined a running club, and my coach Brittany Charboneau helped me adjust my perspective about the sport.
One of the many things I love about running is that it isn’t exclusive — it’s challenging and rewarding and possible for everyone regardless of pace.
