OMAHA, Neb. -- Tyler Kolek's go-ahead basket with 28.7 seconds left lifted No. 10 Marquette to a 73-71 road win at No. 19 Creighton on Tuesday night in front of a sold out crowd of 18,006 fans at CHI Health Center Omaha.
The Golden Eagles trailed 32-20 late in the first half, only to use a 43-21 spurt to build a 63-53 lead, then had to survive down the stretch after CU tied the game twice in the final 80 seconds.
Marquette (22-6, 14-3 BIG EAST) added to its lead in the BIG EAST standings while Creighton (18-10, 12-5 BIG EAST) fell into a tie for third place.
