OMAHA, Neb. -- The five-time defending BIG EAST champion Creighton Volleyball team opened league play in 2019 with a convincing 3-0 sweep over visiting Villanova on Friday, Sept. 27.
Scores of the match were 25-16, 25-16, 25-19, as Creighton trailed just once the entire match.
Creighton dominated the stats, owning a 50-33 lead in kills, a 9-0 edge in aces and a 49-35 edge in digs. both teams had two blocks, and Creighton hit .365 compared to 'Nova's .223.
