It was a surprising, but familiar result in Bowling Green on Thursday night. The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers lost a home game to FCS foe Central Arkansas in Tyson Helton’s head coaching debut.
WKU scored two touchdowns in the first quarter thanks to a 68-yard run by Gaej Walker and a five yard pass from Steven Duncan to Joshua Simon. Walker was arguably the Tops’ biggest bright spot in this game finishing with 152 yards on 19 carries and two touchdowns.
UCA’s Lujuan Winningham helped the bears respond in the second quarter with a 23-yard touchdown catch from quarterback Breylin Smith.
