Navy quarterback Keenan Reynolds capped off a 21-17 victory over Army with a 5th place finish in the Heisman voting. The fact that a player from a service academy was able to finish in the top 5 ahead of guys like Fournette, Cook, and Elliott is incredible.
There was plenty of debate about whether or not Reynolds should have been in New York City, but regardless, it's time to celebrate a player who exemplified excellence with integrity in victory and defeat.
In case you haven't seen the records he has broken listed enough, I'm going to list them one more time for good measure:
- Most rushing touchdowns in NCAA Division 1 history (85)
- Most touchdowns scored in FBS history (85)
- 4,415 career rushing yards which is 3rd all-time for QB, needs 81 in Military Bowl to pass Denard Robinson for first all-time
- Most rushing touchdowns by a QB in a game (7), season (31), and career (85).
